The Price stems from the need to sum the musical past of Marco Barusso. This is in all respects a solo project. The synthesis of his journey as a musician and songwriter with Cayne (2006-2014) and Heavy Metal Kids (2002-2010), added to his experience as a producer, arranger, session musician and sound engineer for artists like Lacuna Coil, HIM, Thirty Seconds To Mars, Coldplay and a long list of mainstream Italian artists.
The band name represents the spirit of the project and the album. Revolving around the basic idea and the common thread linking the songs, is the belief, that in life everything has its price. Each of our choices involves sometimes unpredictable consequences, linked to the difficulty of human relationships, but also to the objective obstacles encountered on our path. Those who choose to dedicate themselves to music know it well, know that this choice, perhaps more than others, involves sacrifice and extreme dedication.
For the realization of the first album of The Price, entitled A Second Chance To Rise, Marco Barusso was able to cooperate with a great number of different artists, with whom he had the pleasure of collaborating in the past. Some of them are also the members for the live line-up, such as Guido Carli (drums), Amerigo Vitiello and Axel Capurro (voices and guitars), and Claudio Sannoner (bass). Others are renowned artists from the international and Italian music scene, as the list of guests in the track list below reveals.
The album contains 12 songs with a powerful, dark and obscure sound, where one can find alternative rock, Scandinavian metal and some ‘80s new wave. A combination of elements which is strengthened by the radio-friendly melodies, that characterize Marco Barusso’s style.
The release will be accompanied by a series of film-like videoclips close to the noir genre, focusing on the macro-issue of pathological human relationships and often morbid and degenerative implications. One of the objectives for these videos is to become a feature-length film (like "Four Rooms "by Tarantino or the" Black Mirror " series) once they are all done. So far 4 videos from this series have been released for the tracks: On The Edge Of Madness, Tears Roll Down, My Escape and most recently Stormy Weather.
