Hailing from Andorra, NAMI are the embodiment of the next great wave of European metal to emerge from the continent.
As the follow up to their critically acclaimed 2011 debut “Fragile Alignments,” Nami have returned with their sophomore album “The Eternal Light Of The Unconscious Mind.” Reuniting with famed producer Jens Bogren (Opeth, Katatonia, Devin Townsend), who has handled the mixing/mastering duties for both of Nami’s records, this quintet from Andorra have carved out an even more evolutionary piece of progressive metal. From the album’s epic opener “The Beholders” and over the course of the album’s additional eight tracks, Nami displays their uncanny ability to split apart metal’s common elements and reassemble them into a new creation. Combined with the lyrical gravitas that revolves around the battle between Mankind’s conscious and unconscious states and the result is something fluid, complex and truly original. Featuring guest performances from Loïc Rossetti from The Ocean and Carlos Lozano and Marc Martins of the band Persefone.
The album's concept is based on dreams, that’s why it sounds so free and deep. It's like a fusion between music and the unconscious that draws us an abstract and nostalgic dark passage. A landscape in which we can feel and know ourselves, and suddenly behold the strength and energy of a battle between conscious and unconscious.
